Lucent Music Academy was born from a simple idea: music should be joyful, empowering, and accessible to everyone.
Founded in New York City by flautist and educator Ms. Tiffany Hsu and Dr. Sieon Choi, Lucent is a modern music school rooted in warmth, artistry, and connection. We are not just here to teach notes and rhythms we are here to help students of all ages and skill levels find their voice, build confidence, and feel proud of their growth.
Whether you are a curious beginner, a parent enrolling your toddler, a passionate hobbyist, or a dedicated musician preparing for auditions, our team of well-rounded teaching artists is here to support you every step if the way. With private lessons offered online or at home, and group classes available across NYC in Midtown, UWS, and LIC, our programs are designed to meet students where they are, both in life and in their musical journey.

Tiffany Hsu is a flutist, educator, and co-founder of Lucent Music & Arts, a music school born from the vision of creating a vibrant, accessible arts community in the heart of Long Island City. With over 15 years of experience in performance and teaching, she blends artistic excellence with a modern, inclusive approach to music education.
At Lucent Music & Arts, Tiffany serves as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Development, where she shapes the school’s long-term vision through strategic planning, program development, and community outreach. She focuses on designing innovative, engaging pathways for students to connect with music—both inside and beyond the classroom. Her multilingual fluency in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English allows her to build meaningful relationships with New York City’s diverse communities, helping to make music education more inclusive and accessible.

Co-Founder | COO | Head of Music Program | Flute Instructor
Sieon Choi is a flutist, educator, and co-founder of Lucent Music & Arts. She has previously worked at Orpheus Chamber Orchestra as a Marketing Intern and Mannes School of Music as an Event Communication Associate. In addition to her professional work experience, she has over 10 years of teaching experience, in both English and Korean.
At Lucent Music & Arts, Sieon serves as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Music Program, where she is responsible for the overall musical and artistic vision and direction of the organization. She plans and implements group classes and private lessons, manages and trains teachers, and leads community engagement.
Sieon is dedicated to delivering high-quality music education to students in both New York City and the Long Island City area, with the goal of fostering a deep appreciation for music, nurturing individual talent, and creating opportunities for artistic growth within these vibrant communities.
